The Team

Greg
I was born to Georgia parents in a small town on the Gulf coast of Texas. The town was named Texas City and I was raised there until the age of 18, when I went out into the world to seek my fortune.

One of my first loves is traveling, and I spent about two and a half years doing so before finally landing in San Diego in November 1977.

After spending several years in college and working, I decided that real estate investing was something that looked not only interesting, but also lucrative. It indeed turned out that way and before too long many of my friends and acquaintances were asking me to help guide them in the purchase of a home or investment property.

With all of this in mind, I took the necessary courses to obtain my Real Estate license. Since receiving my license in 1986, I have been able to help many friends obtain the home that they always wanted and also to start building equity through what is still the best investment going. Through knowing of us and our accomplishments you will have a better feel for who we are.

Marisa
I was born in Huacho, Peru in 1962. I lived there for nine years until my family moved to Lima. I lived in Lima for the next eighteen years and during this time I attended several different preparatory schools. I then spent three years in the College of Journalism at San Martin de Porres University.

I then changed my major to Law and spent the next six years studying at the College of Law at San Martin de Porres University. In December 1987, Greg and I met at my cousin's home in Peru, where Greg was visiting. We corresponded by mail and telephone for a year and then Greg returned to Peru for Christmas. Shortly thereafter we decided to be married, and made plans for a May wedding.

Greg then returned to the United States while I continued with my studies and practicing until I completed the necessary work to receive my attorney's license in March 1989. Greg returned to Peru in May, where we were married on May 20th. After a short honeymoon we returned to the United States and I began to work with Greg in the Real Estate business he had established years earlier.

Since then, we have continued to develop the existing business and expanded into some very interesting fields.

One of the things we have done is develop our business in the Spanish speaking
market. Because we both speak fluent Spanish, this has opened up an entirely new market segment not available to the average Real Estate agent. Working both of these markets has resulted in explosive growth of our business.

We hope to have the opportunity to put all of this experience and growth to work for you.

Fabby
I was born in Tijuana Mexico and moved to San Diego when I was 12 yrs. Old. I have been Greg & Marisa Joyner’s Transaction Coordination for the past 11 years and their loan processor for the last 4 years. My job is to follow up with all parties involved in the transaction, make sure everyone has the required information and documents needed in a timely manner throughout the escrow. We know that Buying or Selling a home is stressful enough without mistakes being made. Therefore, our goal is to make the process as stress free as possible for our clients.

Fortunatly, after having done this job for 11 years and processing over 800 transactions we have gotten it down to a fine art. If you have any questions on your escrow or your loan you can call me direct at 858-274-9981 and I’ll be happy to help you.

John
Before I was a Realtor, I spent 6 years as a Naval Officer right here in sunny San Diego. I graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland in 1998 and moved to San Diego later that year. I was originally assigned to the USS Rushmore (LSD-47) and spent much of my time transporting Marines to foreign lands. In August of 2000, I transferred to Beachmaster Unit One in Coronado and spent two years as an Officer-in-Charge of a Beach Party Team. At BMU, I worked to bring Marines ashore so that they could continue to protect freedom around the world. For the last two years of my active duty career I enjoyed being the Legal Officer at the Fleet Anti-submarine Warfare Training Center in Point Loma -- where the Navy trains young men and women to become Sonar Technicians on surface ships. Again, that was another great assignment where I made many friends and learned a lot about leadership. I currently work as a Navy Reservist and spend time each month training with Commander Amphibious Group Three.

I am originally from Crandall, TX -- a small town near Dallas. I was born in Dallas and moved out to Crandall (population 1,001) before I began school. I still keep in touch with many of my high school friends. I enjoy a variety of activities and hobbies. I'm in a band and we play shows about twice a month and have a lot of fun doing it! I also love to wakeboard and snowboard. When I can't get to the lake or ski slopes, you might find me watching football or trying to make it through a full 18 holes of golf with a respectable score!

As a homeowner and investment property owner, I have been interested in real estate for many years. I started reading books on real estate investing when I moved to San Diego and in Jan 2004, I decided to make a career of helping others achieve their dreams. I really enjoy working to find great deals for others and hope to help you find the perfect home or investment property! Most of all, I simply enjoy making new friends every day!

Marcela
In the spring of 2004 I was recruited by Marisa and Greg to join their team as a bilingual (Spanish-English) Buyer’s Agent and Client Coordinator. My core responsibilies include maintaining contact with the Joyner client base on a regular basis and coaching prospective clients through the process of overcoming the fears many have when purchasing a home for the first time or moving up into a larger property. I have worked with a variety of English and Spanish-speaking clients who have felt paralyzed by their fears and, once we work through the initial steps of checking credit and going over finances, we often discover the possibilities are more than they even dreamed.

I came to the Joyner’s with a extensive background in finance including processing, document drawing, auditing, and working closely to support large lender firms including Wells Fargo, North County Bank, Advanta Mortgage and many others. My experience lends a unique talent to the team by allowing me to draw from many resources and research the best possible program tailored to each buyer.

Like many in the changing face of San Diego culture, I was born to immigrant parents and raised in San Diego nearly all of my life. My Father and Grandfather have built and own many properties all over southern California and south of the border. Real Estate has always been in my life and of particular interest to me and I have managed many of my grandfather’s properties.

I like to spend my free time enjoying my family and going out dancing with my friends. When I have some time on my own I really enjoy a good book and cooking. I recently moved to the beach area which offers a great variety of outdoor activities.
